Our Principal

Welcome to Torch Middle School!

 

My name is Vanessa Muñoz, and I am the proud new Principal of Torch Middle School! I am honored and privileged to be able to serve our Bassett Unified School District students, families, and community. Being a product of public education and growing up in South Los Angeles has influenced my drive to be a positive agent of change in communities such as La Puente. My career in education began over 15 years ago as a teacher’s assistant, school secretary, teacher, and an instructional coach. I am beyond excited to be part of the Trojan Family!

 

At Torch Middle School, we are passionate about providing students with the highest quality educational experience to prepare them for a successful future in high school, college, or career. We are committed to providing the best academic and character-building opportunities to help students become model citizens in today's society. At Torch, our students take pride in being Safe, Respectful and Responsible students. As a school community we work to ensure our students develop their academic skills, social emotional well-being, and their character as respectful and responsible citizens. Our school provides enriching opportunities in the areas of Visual and Performing Arts, Science, Technology and Engineering and Foreign Language as well as the core subjects. We also offer many after school opportunities such as sports, clubs, and organizations.

 

We welcome families and community partners to collaborate with us as we prepare our students for successful college and career futures. It is our privilege to serve our students and we look forward to building together! Our doors are always open and we look forward to thriving in our learning this school year!
